安立帥先生點(diǎn)評(píng)第五屆俱樂部杯-1
China Club Challenge Match 2009 |
That’s a small regatta perhaps compared to some of those in Europe and the US, but it started in 2005 with only two clubs competing - in beat up J/24s - and is the culmination of hard work by the grass roots sailors of Iron Rock Sailing Club in Xiamen and the foresight of the Chinese Yachting Association (CYA) in supporting the event. The first day’s racing was preceded by the opening ceremony attended by Li Quan Hai, Deputy Secretary General CYA and the Vice Mayor of Xiamen, demonstrating the profile of the regatta on the Chinese sailing scene. Day one had everything - periods of no wind and, later in the day, times where the sea off Xiamen Island was flecked with white. The race management team got six races off – three in each flight – including two general recalls. And an on-water umpire dealing with most situations meant that teams calling a protest didn’t have to spend time in The Room in the evening. The umpire had some trade, but it was generally a quiet day on day 1.
Like any fleet there was the group up front and the stragglers. After the first day the team from Shanghai Boat & Yacht Club (SBYC) topped their flight. A long-time supporter of the event, they have come close on each visit only to fall at the final hurdle – perhaps this year they can be the bride and not just the bridesmaid? In the second flight the team of Sea Wolves from Shenzhen who race together regularly – and it showed – topped day one, but three more races scheduled on day two and only one discard meant that no one was really guaranteed progression to the next stage of the regatta. Day 2 dawned with the influence of Typhoon Parma to be felt with breezes topping 20 kts at times. There was everything from fine sailing to boats spinning out under gennaker, the Committee Boat getting a nudge, and even one collision - although thankfully no one was hurt. At the end of day 2 the leader board was as follows; FLIGHT A 1 SBYC- 10 2 Xiamen Wind and Water 15 3 Shanghai Airport Group 18 4 Microlab 18 5 Shanghai Sky Alliance 22 6 Beijing Ocean 24 7 Shenzhen People 27 8 Amoy Nanyang University 30 9 Dalian Team 46 FLIGHT B 1 Shenzhen Sea Wolf 8 2 Shanghai Saimeng 12 3 Qingdao Santi 13 4 Xiamen Ironrock Sailing Club 15 5 Xiamen Fei Peng 22 6 Shanghai Dexin 26 7 Shanghai Fishermen 33 8 Taiwan Zhenli University 37 All the above with discard in place So, all to play for in one or two places on the scoreboard and the two final races in each flight planned for tomorrow. by Al Skinner 2:04 PM Sun 4 Oct 2009 |
